and so it begins...

Only a few short days after taking off crawling and beginning to Cruise and Logan is reminding me what having a baby on the move is all about... this mama better get on the ball!

Milestone: Logan is standing on his own

10/21/11, 9 months
Logan made is first solo stance today, not using anything to hold himself up. He lasted about 15- 20 seconds before he had to grab the step again to hold himself up. His the grin on his face gave away his pride, he gave me a look saying, how did this happen?

Logan: 9 Months

Today Logan is 9 months old. My dear sweet baby is growing so fast! He is such a happy little man, you will notice in all his pictures he is grinning from ear to ear! He is starting to cruise much more and has added quite a bit of speed to his crawl, getting to where he wants to go quite quickly which puts big brother in quite a panic when he is headed towards his toys. He doesn't seem to have much interest in the baby toys we have for him, he is constantly wanting what Nathan has. His favorite is Nathan's motorized trains, he loves to try to get them as they make their way around the track. Big brother has been a pretty good sport about sharing his toys but I am already starting to feel like a referee!

Self Portrait

I was impressed with Nathan's creativity when he used his train tracks to make a self portrait all by himself. He also was quite proud! Of course he wants to leave it where it is so he can continue to admire it, which would be fine if it wasn't in a major walk way in our home :)

Cuddle bug...

Nathan is notorious for waking up early in the morning, far earlier than Mom wants to get up anyway. He usually disrupts my peaceful slumber around 5:00 to 5:30am (that is if Logan doesn't already have me out of bed). Mick is usually already exercising by this point so I let Nathan climb in bed with me. Last night as I was putting Nathan to bed he told me,"Mom, when it's early enough for me to sleep with you come ask me please would you?"
Ahh! It's simple thoughts of love like these that melt my heart.

Going mobile...

Milestone:Logan is crawling
10/13/11, 8 Months
Logan made his crawling debut today. He has been teasing us for several weeks now by crawling very small amounts but today he let lose! He first headed for the vacuum, then he made a b-line for Nathan's Lego's and then crawled to Dad who was enticing him with a grape. I think it safe to say that things will be going up at our house soon. He has also been pulling himself up this week, oh how fast this first year of knowing and loving Logan is going. I am so thankful for such rich blessings from the Lord!

It has been fun going through Nathan's old baby clothes. As I go through them trying to find ones that Logan can wear I find myself reminiscing over when Nathan was just a baby and wearing them. This is one of my favorites. Grandpa & Grandma Zoske gave us these pajamas for Christmas when I was expecting Nathan. Oh, the sweet memories of Nathan crawling in these with his cute little baby tush, now Logan can carry the family name :)

I was trying to get both of them to look at me for a picture...but they both had much more interest in the leave pile...but I still think a few of them turned out cute!

The only reason to rake leaves...is to play in them!

Enjoying a rainy Day

Anytime it even misting outside Nathan insists on putting on his rain boots and taking his umbrella outside to play in the rain... at least someone enjoys it!

Daddy & his boys

Milestone: First Table foods

10/2011, 8 months
Logan has began to eat quite a bit of table food. His favorites are cheerios, toast, bananas and grapes. He gets very excited when you share your food with him, I think he is just happy to be eating the same food as everyone else, and who can blame him after eating baby food for so long!

Up there...

Dear Nathan,
So many times I wonder what is going on up there in the cute little head of yours... other times I don't have to guess because you share with us what you are thinking, thus making me wonder even more what funny little things you think that you don't even say... today this is what you have told me so far...

Nathan: Mom, when I get out of the slammer will you come pick me up please?
(leaving me to wonder...do people that go to jail have such nice manners?)

A few seconds later, Nathan: I don't want to be in jail for 100 days or I'll be really, really, really hungry. I don't want to be really, really, really hungry.

...and some moments I am amazed at how grown up that little mind of yours is.

When I was trying to make lunch today and Logan was fussing I asked you to try to make Logan happy. You came over and said to Logan, "Oh, it's okay Logan, God is always with you.", melting my heart once again.

...then later this afternoon we had the following coversation..

Mom: God takes care of us dosen't he.
Nathan: Yes, and the animals.
Mom: Yes, he gives the birds food.
Nathan: No, I do. God just makes the bird seed.

Orchard & Pumpkin Patch 2011

We had a wonderful time at the Center Grove Orchard & Pumpkin Patch on Saturday with my sister and her boys Levi, Tyler and Blake. It was a such a gorgeous day, just being outside was good enough, not to mention all the fun activites they had for the kiddos! Nathan's favorite was the 3 little pigs houses. I had a hard time getting him out of the brick house! He also enjoyed milking the cow, jumping on the giant pillow, the hay maze, the big slide and the corn pool! All the boys had a lot of fun being with each other, it was a great way to spend a Saturday.

Blue Eyed Baby

Our sweet baby is 8 months old now, I know 8 months! Logan is such a happy boy! His sweet little smiles melt my heart over and over again. Logan is thrilled to now be eating cherrios and fruit puffs. He also thinks it's great when he gets to steal a little fruit from mom or dad. He also is on the verge of crawling. He has been teasing us for weeks, but just hasn't quite figured out how to get mobile yet. I'm sure it won't be long...
