12/28/11, 11 Months
Several weeks after Logan took his first step I think it is safe to say that Logan can walk. He has begun to routinely take 4-5 steps to get to where he wants. It has been such a joy watching him bravely start out upright to get to where he wants to go. He of course is rewarded with his own personal cheering squad from Nathan and Mommy!

Ice Skating
Today we had a great play date with the Smiths! After a yummy lunch we took the kids to the ice rink for their first skating experience. When we got there it was actually colder in the ice area than it was outside since it was such a gorgeous day! Of course, at first the kiddos were a little scared when they stepped on the ice and clung to the sides of the rink but it didn't take long and they started to get braver and more confident. They did a great job and we enjoyed a fun afternoon together.
Christmas Eve
We had a very memorable Christmas eve this year, although I think we would like to forget some of it. We first had the pleasure of watching Nathan participate in his first Christmas Eve Program at Church. When Nathan's classmates started saying their peices everyone was speaking pretty quitely and shyly into the microphone, but when Nathan got his turn he made us all sit on edge when he shouted his piece into the microphone. His piece was "To be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child." He did a great job sharing the wonderful Christmas message. Unfortunetly it was long after the program that the flu struck our family. First Nathan got sick at church, then we ended up pulling over twice on the way home for both Mom and Nathan. It was a very long sleepless night for all of us. Luckly we had started feeling better in the morning and got to enjoy most of our Christmas day together. Happy Birthday Jesus!!!
Two Man Band
Mommy and Daddy's ears have been ringing! One of the boys favorite things to do lately is make music on my pans. Dad can't hardly stand it, so we have had to make a rule in our house that their "heavy Metal" music can only be played between 8-5 pm, this has been strickly enforced by their landlord :)
Naughty or Nice
Nathan had been drawing with markers while I worked in the kitchen. Before I realized what he was doing he had drawn all over his face. While we were getting him all cleaned up Nathan said, "Mom, will I still get Christmas presents?"
Logan's First Christmas
It has been such a joy watching Logan take in his first Christmas! He of course has been enjoying the lights and twinkles of the Christmas tree and has been caught exploring the lights and oranments on the lower half of the tree. He managed to pull the entire string of lights of the bottom several times and has also has been exploring the presents sitting under the tree and been caught with a handful of wrapping paper more than once. The cheer shirt he is wearing is a hand-me-down from Nathan's first Christmas, it was a gift from the Klitguards. It's so sweet to get to share all the memories from child to child with a special hand-me-down.
Nathan's Special Meal
Before we left the Wisconsin Dells we made a stop at Buffalo Philps for a meal with Nathan love of trains front and center. At this restaurant your drinks and food are delivered via a train. Nathan was of course ecstatic with this system and I'm sure wondering why all restaurants didn't use this genius idea. Each time the train came around the track it would have small changes in what it was carrying. Nathan's favorite was Woody riding the engine, bubbles, and a snowman. Amazingly enough Nathan even managed to get a couple bites of food down amidst all exciting things happening around him.
Wisconsin Dells
We were lucky enough to get to travel with Daddy last week while he was gone for business. His meetings were at Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells. It was a great resort with an awesome indoor water park- not to mention it's own Starbucks (which immeditely made it a great place on my list :)) The kids and I had such a fun mini vacation and once again poor Daddy had to work! But, as you can see in the pictures he did get in on a little of the fun!
Part of what made Chula Vista such a great place was the extremely friendly people that worked there. They truly made it a wonderful experience. The resort had a restaurant that we ate several meals at and each time we went they would remember both boys names etc. They even asked Nathan to name the dog set in there gingerbread house display. He named it snowford (we have no idea how he came up with this). The next morning when we came down for breakfast they had made a sugar cookie name tag for the dog with his new name from Nathan.
